Volunteer Recruitment
The Rye Fire Department is actively recruiting individuals who wish to serve the City of Rye and surrounding areas in the capacity of firefighters. Eligibility requirements include men/women at least 16 years old who live or work in the City of Rye or a surrounding town. Volunteers must be in good physical condition and have the desire to participate in fire and other emergency activities.
Fire scene roles and responsibilities are determined by certifications obtained through training programs. No training or fire service experience necessary for membership. The Rye Fire Department sponsors volunteer training given by Westchester County's Department of Emergency Services and the State of New York's Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
