Early on Sunday August 11th, 2013 at 6:02am, The Rye Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire at 150 Maple Ave. Within minutes, Engine 191 was on scene and reported smoke showing. With flames visable from the basement, a "10-75" working fire assignment was immediatly requested, and subsequently dispatched by 60 Control. Our working fire assignment brought a Harrison FD Engine and a Firefighter Assist Search Team (FASTeam) from the Town of Mamaroneck FD to the scene.

Firefighters quickly stretched an initial attach line and then a secondary attack line through the driveway to the rear of the house. Firefighters then entered the basement of the house through an exterior cellar door. The main body of fire was quickly knocked down however multiple small pockets of fire continued to burn in the walls. Shortly before 7:00am, command reported that all visible fire had been knocked down. Harrison firefighters assisted with extensive overhaul while Mamaroneck Town Firefighters stood fast. Due to low power lines, ground ladders had to be utilized.

There were no injuries to firefighters or the homeowners however the house did sustain smoke, water and fire damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services (WCDES) Cause and Origin Team.
